My Story
“You’re never too dirty to take a bath.” This is what my teacher said when I revealed that I have a spinal defect and I couldn't touch my toes. I’ve learned that what I once viewed as limitations are really opportunities. I’ve tapped into the world of yoga and learned from wise and inspiring individuals on my path to becoming a Yoga Alliance certified instructor. My mission is to make yoga accessible, to encourage my clients to approach yoga with compassion for themselves, and to practice with steadfast joy as they challenge their own limitations. Now most days I can touch my toes; some days I can’t. As Jigar Gor says “Yoga is not about touching your toes. It is what you learn on the way down.” Namaste.
Melissa is a natural yoga instructor. She encompasses the 3 R’s: relaxing, restorative and radiant. Anyone doing practice with her will simply sigh as her joy shines through. I highly recommend her as a yogi.

Melissa's classes were my first introduction to yoga and due to my scoliosis and history of terrible flexibility, I was quite nervous.
